Sports betting is the activity of predicting sports results and placing a wager on the outcome.
It can be extremely useful to know what other punters are thinking.
Many betting tips will come to you free of charge from your mates once they hear
you have an eye on a given match.
The most useful sport tips will be thoroughly researched or come from someone
likely to have advanced or inside knowledge. While professional tipsters who
devote themselves full-time to the task often have the most useful tips, sport
enthusiasts with long memories can be just as insightful. One may also find it
easier to take sport betting tips from punters who put their money where their
mouth is on a regular basis.
Don’t accept any advice that doesn’t feel right to you or that doesn't seem
based in sense
Get your sports betting tips, or your sports betting entertainment points, from
someone reasonably reliable and clever, so that you can watch your match with
pleasure knowing you've taken good betting advice.
Take account of the particular qualities of each team when making your
forecasts. Certain teams are traditionally strong at home while others are known
to travel well.
Before forecasting the results, make sure that you’re always up to date with the
latest footballing news and place your bet at the last possible moment.
Injuries, suspensions and illnesses affecting key players may have a significant
impact.
Always consider the form of the team’s opponents in their previous matches.
In modern football, the blend of team spirit and motivation is often a decisive
factor.
Motivation has a major influence on a football club’s sporting performances.
When a match/game is in play the odds keep fluctuating down and up against the
punters.
It has been said that 97% of gamblers fail to turnover a profit over the long
term.
The much harder task, over many bets, is to consistently win more that one
loses. The reason, of course, is because the "odds" or probabilities, literally
speaking, are stacked against the punter, since as we know the bookmaker, who
sets the odds, is not in the game for charitable purposes. Those odds contain an
in-built advantage for the bookmaker such that if the punter bets blindly or
randomly, he will surely lose over the long term, just as he would at any casino
roulette wheel.
The traditional approach to beating the bookmaker has been through forecasting
and prediction techniques commonly referred to as rating systems in an attempt
to reveal errors by the bookmaker.
Phillip said God supplies believers needs (KJV Philippians 4: 19-20). So if one is depending on betting or gambling to supply the needs, isn't it possible they have lost track and adopted an impure form of loyalty. Shouldn't one be playing with the main purpose as fun while loosing or winning, but looking forward to win of course. Over the long run 97% will undergo losses.
KJV Philippians 4: 19-20
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory
by Christ Jesus.
20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen

Casinos do not provide a fair chance for one to win money but a fair
chance for them to rob you of your hard earned money. There are unseen concepts
of polarity and magnetism used against the player. They also employ players so
you think you are not the only loser while the other players are all casino
employees.
Gambling requires someone with a strong will because it is not easy to
walk away when you win or lose.
Gambling can’t support your life forever unless you own a casino. Remember if
you win too much you may be followed by robbers home.
Types of bets
The many types of bets (wikipedia) include:
· Proposition bets are wagers made on a very specific outcome of a match. Examples include guessing the number of goals each team scores in a handball match, betting whether a player will score in a football game, or wagering that a baseball player on one team will accumulate more hits than another player on the opposing team.
· Parlays involve multiple bets (usually up to 12) and will reward a successful bettor with a large payout. For example, a bettor could include four different wagers in a four-team parlay, whereby he is wagering that all four bets will win. If any of the four bets fails to cover, the bettor loses the parlay, but if all four bets win, the bettor receives a substantially higher payout (usually 10-1 in the case of a four-teamer) than if he made the four wagers separately.
· Progressive parlays. A progressive parlay involves multiple bets (usually up to 12) and rewards successful bettors with a large payout, though not as large as normal parlays. However in a progressive parlay, unlike a regular parlay, a reduced payout will still be made even should some of the bets lose.
· Teasers. A teaser allows the bettor to combine his bets on two or more different games. The bettor can adjust the point spreads for the two games, but must get all the games correct to win and recognizes a lower return in comparison to parlays.
· If bets. An if bet consists of at least two straight bets joined together by an if clause which determines the wager process. If the player’s first selection complies with the condition (clause), then the second selection will have action; if the second selection complies with the condition, then the third selection will have action and so on.
· Run line, puck line or goal line bets. These are wagers offered as alternatives to straight-up/moneyline prices in baseball, hockey or soccer, respectively. These bets feature a fixed point spread that (usually) offers a higher payout for the favorite and a lower payout for the underdog (both in comparison to the moneyline).
· Future wagers. While all sports wagers are by definition on future events, bets listed as "futures" generally have a long-term horizon measured in weeks or months; for example, a bet that a certain NFL team will win the Super Bowl for the upcoming season. Such a bet must be made before the season starts in September, and winning bets will not pay off until the conclusion of the Super Bowl in January or February (although many of the losing bets will be clear well before then and can be closed out by the book). Odds for such a bet generally are expressed in a ratio of units paid to unit wagered. The team wagered upon might be 50-1 to win the Super Bowl, which means that the bet will pay 50 times the amount wagered if the team does so.
· Head-to-Head. In these bets, bettor predicts competitors results against each other and not on the overall result of the event. One example are Formula One races, where you bet on two or three drivers and their placement among the others. Sometimes you can also bet a “tie”, in which one or both drivers either have the same time, drop out, or get disqualified.
· Totalizators. In totalizators (sometimes called flexible-rate bets) the odds are changing in real-time according to the share of total exchange each of the possible outcomes have received taking into account the return rate of the bookmaker offering the bet. For example: If the bookmakers return percentage is 90%, 90% of the amount placed on the winning result will be given back to bettors and 10% goes to the bookmaker. Naturally the more money bet on a certain result, the smaller the odds on that outcome become. This is similar to parimutuel wagering in horse racing and dog racing.
· 2nd half bets. A 2nd half(Second half) bet is also sometimes called a halftime bet. This bet is placed only at halftime of a particular sporting event. This bet can be placed on the spread(Line) or over/under. The resulting bet that is placed is won or lost only on the points scored by both teams in the second half only.
· In-play betting. In-play betting is a feature offered by some online sports books that enables bettors to place new bets while a sporting event is in progress.

Football Betting Strategies
A short guide to different strategies that you can use to hopefully ensure that you make profit, or at least break even. There is no such thing as a no lose strategy but some common sense in conjunction with a well thought out strategy and some patience should yield results.
Free Bets
Make the most of free bets offered by various bookmakers. You will have to lay out initial stakes with each account but the free bets may well give you a great starting fund.
Accounts with Multiple Bookmakers
Open accounts with multiple bookmakers as the odds offered on the same matches can vary, so always aim to place your bet with the bookie that offers you the best odds; it's all about maximising your profit.
Double To Recover
If you've lost a bet, double your stake on your next bet with the aim of recovering any losses, taking into account any variation of odds between successive bets. This is quite a risky strategy as there is no guarantee that you will win your successive bets, so the further you pursue this strategy the riskier it becomes.
Lucky 15
A lucky 15 is basically 15 bets. You pick the outcomes of 4 matches and the 15 bets comprises all the singles, doubles, trebles and yankee; so 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 yankee. This type of bet can be quite expensive although predicting 3 results correctly should cover your stake, and if all 4 come in you should be in for some tidy profit. A variation of this bet is to predict correct scores in the 4 matches rather than just the outcomes, which bumps up the odds considerably and also the risk.
Elimination
If you can be a certain that the outcome of an event will not happen, that narrows down the possibilities to bet on i.e. if you are sure a team will not lose a game just stake money on the draw and the win. This method covers your bets and should make profit as long as you initial assumptions are correct.
Double Correct Score with First Goalscorer
This is a common bet offered by bookmakers, probably because the outcome is very difficult to predict. Pick the scorer of the first goal coupled with the correct final score. The odds offered are usually slightly less than if you had taken them as separate bets in an accumulator, but specials is how a lot of bookies make their money.
Half Time / Full Time
To increase the odds of a normal match odds bet where you would pick a home win, away win or draw, instead go for the half time / full time option. The odds should at least be double that of the normal match odds bet. Maximum odds are on offer for home win at half time and away win at full time.
Spread Your Bets
Spread your bets across a range of games where you can confidently pick the winner, adjusting the stake in accordance with the risk. In cases where one or two outcomes are not as expected, the rest of your bets should cover your losses. If all bets come in you are in for some tidy profit.
Recent History
It is surprisingly common how often results between teams are identical from one season to the next e.g. Tottenham - Arsenal nearly always ends in a 1-1 draw. Look out for these sort of fixtures and stake cash on either the correct score or the home win, away win or draw.
Spot The Value
Sometimes the bookies can get the odds wrong; it doesn't happen often but you should be alert to the possibility. Look out for less fashionable sides hitting a good run of form coming up against teams expected to win. Also look out for players coming back from injury or suspension, scoring midfielders, scoring centre halves or penalty takers for value in first scorer bets.
Accumulators Over Successive Days
With so much televised football all over the weekend, take advantage and include in accumulators fixtures that occur on successive days i.e. predict three matches on the Saturday and one on the Sunday. If all games on the Saturday come in you can cover the other possible outcomes from the Sunday game, thus maximising your profit without loss.

KJV Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
KJV Isaiah 45: 1-3
1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose
right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the
loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not
be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in
pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret
places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am
the God of Israel.
- Have the right attitude - gamble for fun and entertainment, not as a way to make money.
- Set a limit on how much money and time you can afford to spend gambling. (It must not be the money needed for basic living expenses, such as food, shelter, etc.) It is important not to change this limit while you play.
- Don't take your bank cards or credit cards with you when you gamble. Leave any extra cash at home.
- When you run out of money, don't borrow from family, friends or others so you can keep gambling.
- Only take the amount of money you are willing to spend and have a clear plan on what you will do if you spend all that money sooner than expected.
- Know how much it costs to play per hour on the games you enjoy. While you win sometimes, you also lose, so it is important to know the average cost per hour. Understand the risks and benefits of gambling - be aware of your own reasons for gambling. The responsibility of balancing these risks and benefits rests solely with you.
- Remember that, while gambling can be fun, it is not a way to solve problems.
- Balance gambling with other leisure activities. Gambling shouldn't be the only activity you do in your spare time.
Practical tips for breaking your gambling habit if it causes you a lot of trouble
· Ask someone to help you
· Talk to them about your lying
· Limit your access to cash
· Fill the gap - find new ways to spend your time
· Relax and look after yourself - learn stress management techniques
· Busts and setbacks - relapses are common, don't beat yourself up, just try again
· Friends can help if you are open with them about your situation
· Become a good problem solver - many people use gambling as a way to escape problems - learn to face them head-on instead

How To Bet In-Play Successfully
Right Money Management
This is something all bettors should pay attention to regardless of their betting strategy and it applies to in-play betting as well. Setting the bankroll or the amount of money you plan to use for this purpose is one of the first things a bettor needs to do and since the live betting market is all about single bets, you should always place the same amount (approximately 5% of your total bankroll) on individual bets as this would give you the highest chances of creating profit in the long run.
Only bet on sports you follow closely
In-play betting is unique in a way that it gives you the best opportunity to cash in on your understanding of a certain sport, so in order to increase your chances of winning you need to only bet on the sporting events you follow closely. Obviously, there is no point in wasting your money on sporting events you know nothing about.
Watch the games when possible
Great thing about this betting type is that you can watch a part of a game before placing your money, which can often prove to be the difference between winning and losing a bet. You can check the teams’ line-ups, tactics and style of play before betting on the game, so you should by no means pass on this excellent opportunity. If the match you are betting on is not broadcast live on TV, you can be sure that one of the online bookies will Live Stream it on their site.
Don’t chase your losses
One of the things bettors love about in-play betting is that it offers countless opportunities with new markets opening almost every minute. Nobody likes to wait for a couple of hours to find out about the outcome of their bet, so live betting market is perfect for those impatient bettors with bets being settled within minutes. However, this is something that can be counterproductive as well, since you can be tempted into chasing your losses and making bets without thinking things through, which can be a fatal mistake.
Get to know the market
Before starting to bet on live events, it would be a good thing to familiarize yourself with the market itself and see how it moves, that is, learn how the odds fluctuate. With odds changing almost every few seconds, you’ll need to act and think very quickly, so knowing how the odds usually move will allow you more time to make important decisions.
All major online bookmakers feature top-notch in-play markets with Live Stream sections, but besides checking the coverage of live events, you should also see what kind of welcome bonuses they have in place for new players prior to opening your account.

VIRTUAL RACING (VR)
Virtual racing has always been a passion for all, but it is always for a short period of time since there are very few horses/cars/racers/etc that get to race at a specific time. For this reason a virtual horse/car/racer/etc racing game has so much in letting people engage in a sport they can’t get tired of.
Basically this is an animated game which has two interfaces, one where you see races going on through a hi-definition screen or television, and the other that involves placing bets through the attendants’ machines (terminals) that are server managed.
Races have a five minute interval between them and a player has various races to choose from that is from 1st race to the 99th race.
It also involves a total of 100 horses/cars/racers/etc called “dogs” with each having a name and a race history attached to its name.
A total of eight horses/cars/racers/etc participate in a single race and on these only the first three horses/cars/racers/etc get to have bets placed on them.
HOW TO PLAY
A player must look at the odds, select his or her favorite combination or set and then go to the attendant and place a bet. Usually bets that are more precise get to have a higher payout compared to those that are most likely placed.
You should note that all bets start from 1,000 shillings onwards.
1. WIN: Bet on winning horse.
2. PLACE: Bet on horse to end in first or second place
3. SHOW: Bet on horse to end in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place
4. QUINELLA: Select TWO horses/cars/racers/etc to end in 1st and 2nd place, in any order.
5. EXACTA: Select TWO horses/cars/racers/etc to end in 1st and 2nd place, in the exact order.
WIN
Place a bet on one of the eight horses/cars/racers/etc to win the race i.e. to come out in the first position.
PLACE
Place a bet on a horse to end the race in either the first or the second position. This one is not as precise as the first one (WIN) therefore its odds are less.
SHOW
This involves placing bet on a horse that you think will end the race in the first, second or third position. This means that you are having three possible types of scores, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. For that reason it has the least odds.
QUINELLA
As compared to the previous sets, this one requires you to bet on two horses/cars/racers/etc ; one of which to end up in the first place and the other in the second place. It has the second biggest payout.
EXACTA
This also involves placing a bet on two horses/cars/racers/etc etc but this is so exact as it is pronounced. Here, you have to specify which horse will end up in the first position and that which will end up in the second position. It has the highest payout so far because it is the most precise set of bets.

Responsible Gambling Tips
Have the right attitude - gamble for fun and entertainment, not as a way to make money.
Set a limit on how much money and time you can afford to spend gambling. (It must not be the money needed for basic living expenses, such as food, shelter, etc.) It is important not to change this limit while you play.
Don't take your bank cards or credit cards with you when you gamble. Leave any extra cash at home.
When you run out of money, don't borrow from family, friends or others so you can keep gambling.
Only take the amount of money you are willing to spend and have a clear plan on what you will do if you spend all that money sooner than expected.
Know how much it costs to play per hour on the games you enjoy. While you win sometimes, you also lose, so it is important to know the average cost per hour. Understand the risks and benefits of gambling - be aware of your own reasons for gambling. The responsibility of balancing these risks and benefits rests solely with you.
Remember that, while gambling can be fun, it is not a way to solve problems.
Balance gambling with other leisure activities. Gambling shouldn't be the only activity you do in your spare time.

Betting Glossary
By Ben
A guide to common football betting terms.
Accumulator.
Sometimes called a parlay. A bet where the winnings from one bet are placed on the next bet. The winnings accumulate, giving a large theoretical return. In reality, not very profitable as it only takes one to lose and your whole bet loses.
Arbitrage.
A combination of bets which guarantees a theoretical risk free profit. These sometimes occur when one bookie offers a price which is out of line with the rest of the market. Opportunities don't last long as the bookie will adjust their prices accordingly.
Asian Handicap.
A type of bet where one team is given a handicap make the odds of beating the handicap around evens and the odds of not beating the handicap around evens. Popular in Asia.
Banker.
A bet that is highly likely to win. Odds are usually less than 1.5 for these types of bets.
Betting Exchange.
A place where people bet against each other. The exchange takes a commission from each winning trade.
Book Value.
The over round that a bookie builds into the odds. For example a typical football match will be booked to 110% meaning that if you bet on all outcomes you'd lose about 10%. Very similar to payout which is defined as 100/book value. To work out book value simply use this formula, Book Value = 1/outcome1_odds + 1/outcome2_odds + ...
Bookmaker, bookie.
The person who accepts a bet.
Decimal odds.
The odds expressed as a decimal, with the stake included in the overall price. For example decimal odds of 3 equals fractional odds of 2/1, as the stake is included in the former but not the latter.
Double.
An accumulator with 2 bets.
Double chance.
A bet that is offered on the 3 way market where you bet on 2 outcomes. For example you might bet on the home win or draw. Odds are usually very poor but you are much more likely to win the bet.
Draw no bet.
A bet where the draw returns your stake. This is exactly the same as a +0 Asian Handicap.
Drifter.
A bet where the price is rising. Eg. a team is 2.2 early on and then moves up to 2.5. Thats a drifter, the odds are said to be "drifting".
Each Way.
A type of bet where you can still win if your choices comes in 2nd/3rd/4th depending on the market. The bet is split into 2, half placed on a straight win and half on, say the next 4 places. This is popular in horse racing but is used in football, in some markets, eg. First goal scorer.
European Handicap.
Do not confuse with Asian Handicaps. This is where a team is given a goal start but the bet cannot be drawn. Three prices are quoted, on for the team giving the handicap, one for the team with the handicap and one for the handicap draw. For example if a team is given a +1 European handicap and the match is lost by a single goal, the bet still loses, unlike with Asian Handicaps where the stakes are refunded. A +1 handicap is equivalent to a +0.5 Asian Handicap, a -1 handicap is equivalent to a -1.5 Asian Handicap.
Evens.
A bet where the odds are 1/1 fractional or 2 decimal. Basically you double your money if you bet on this and it wins.
Fixed odds betting.
This is where you know what you are going to win or lose at the time of placing the bet. Your winnings and liability are 'fixed'. Compare with spread betting.
Fractional odds.
These are a popular way of expressing odds in Britain. The stake is not included in the return. For example, 2/1 is equal to 3 decimal, as it only expresses the winning part of the bet.
Goal line, Unders/overs, total goals.
All similar markets centered around the total goals in a match. Unders/overs usually mean 2 goals or under, for unders and 3 goals or more for overs. The goal line is practically the same as unders/overs but the bet can draw. For example if the goal line is 3, a game with 2 goals over few will win the unders, a game with 4 or more will win the overs while a game with exactly 3 goals will void the bet. Sometimes the goal lines have quarters in them, eg. 2.25, here is there are exactly 2 goals in the match, the unders bet will win half, while the overs will lose half. Total goals are usually expressed in 3 brackets, 0-1, 2-3 and 4+.
Half Time/Full Time, sometimes called double result.
This is where you bet on what the results at half time and full time are.
Lay a Bet.
This is what a bookmaker does when he accepts a bet. It is possible to lay bets yourself on a betting exchange.
Odds against.
A bet where the odds are greater than evens.
Odds on.
A bet where the odds are less than evens.
Scorecast.
This is a bet where you predict the first goal score and the correct score. Odds are good but getting these right is very difficult.
Spread betting.
An increasingly popular method of betting where the returns aren't fixed. You be on the difference between what the bookies sets as the spread and what you think will happen. For example in the time of first goal market, the bookie may offer a quote of 26-29 minutes. You can either go under (buy) or over (sell) this spread. If you bet under and a goal is scored in the 6th minute you win 20 (26-6) times your stake. However if it ends up being scored in the 80th minute you are going to end up losing a lot of money. KLS betting just tip fixed odds markets.
Three-way betting or 1X2.
Betting on a home win/ draw/ or away win. 1X2 because in betting shops, you mark 1 for home win, X for a draw and 2 for an away win.
Void bet.
In Asian Handicap terms this is where the bet draws. Void bets can also occur in other markets, for example in the first goal scorer market if your player isn't on the pitch when the first goal is scored the bet is void. Can happen if matches are postponed or abandoned.
